North American Tour: Day 4 – Boston to Montreal.

So far this has been the most scenic drive of all. New Hampshire is what’s up! Vermont is perhaps one of the most beautiful states in the US 50. The drive from the Canadian border was surreal – farm land as far as the eye can see, beautiful scenery, strange looking signs, and awesome weather made this the top drive of all thus far.

Sandy and I had a great breakfast with Jon & Lisa, and said goodbye around mid-morning. We left in the rain, drove in the rain, and will probably be in the rain the rest of the weekend here in Montreal. Lisa said they have had two weeks solid of showers in Boston, and will get rain all week. I think that is cool – too bad the grass is always greener on the other side, right?!?

The kids did great again, and have enjoyed being in the ‘big city’. We had a bit of a frustration when we were 15 miles out of Montreal, because we hit bumper-to-bumper traffic and crawled until we crossed the downtown river (St. Lawrence). Once we arrived it was worth it though.  Montreal is fantastic – much like NYC and other really great cities – big, sophisticated, very fashion forward, trendy, and modern, and of course everyone speaks french here. It is very forigen, yet recognizable as well, and you all know that Canada is United States LITE.

We had a great night of walking the city and having dinner, and we are back the the hotel chillin before the kids turned into pumpkins. I won’t be posting pictures tonight because my battery died on my camera ;-0  I’ll put a double-dose up tomorrow.

Miles today: 329

Waypoints: New Hampshire, Vermont, Canadian border, Canadian countryside, Montreal.

Tomorrow: Montreal.
